A celebration of the life of Mick Rock

QUEEN_Contact_1974(c)MickRock

About the Event

Join us for a book release and life celebration of one of the most iconic Rock & Roll photographers of all time, Mick Rock.

Richard Barone (The Bongos) and Glenn Mercer (The Feelies) will be joined by John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Shrill, Joe vs. Carole and The Sandman) for a special musical performance and DJ set by The Muses.

There will be stories told and an original short film of outtakes from Mick Rock’s acclaimed film SHOT! The Psycho Spiritual Mantra Of Rock.

Mick’s lifetime of work is collected in SHOT! by ROCK (Insight Editions) – a deluxe monograph full of Mick’s signature, color-saturated photography and iconic subjects. This event and the book’s publication is timed to celebrate what would have been Mick’s 74th birthday on November 21st.

Mick was both photographer and friend to some of the most dynamic and enthralling musical acts and stars in rock history, and the book contains amazing and amusing behind-the-scenes stories of musicians from Mick Jagger to Miley Cyrus; from Queen to Lana Del Ray; from David Bowie to Snoop Dog, and well beyond.

Come early or stay after to experience David LaChapelle’s exhibition make BELIEVE.
