About the film
Two young Syrian women, Taimaa and Nour, find themselves navigating new marriages and entering motherhood while seeking asylum in Europe.
Paradise Without People is Francesca Trianni’s award-winning directorial debut. Working as a cinematographer with an all-female team, Trianni paints an intimate portrait of the two women as they experience the tender joys of motherhood and the painful frustrations of an uncertain future.
Produced by Time Studios, the documentary offers a truly distinct lens on the worldwide refugee crisis, made even more urgent by a new influx of people displaced by war in Europe.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
