Photography Talk with Natalie Keyssar and Yelena Yemchuk

SCHOOLS

About the Event

To mark anniversary of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, we will examine the role of professional photography in a war that is playing out first on social media via smart phone imagery.

Other topics will include the aesthetics of documentary art in war; objectivity and lack thereof in a context of war crimes and human rights violations.

Photographers Natalie Keyssar and Yelena Yemchuk will also reflect on the ethics and obligations of covering this conflict respectfully as an outsider.
