Beyond the Binary

Join artist Laurence Philomène and our friends at VICE  for a glittering night of conversation and cocktails celebrating the opening of Puberty.

Puberty is Philomène’s photographic memoir chronicling two years of the artist’s life as they underwent hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Fotografiska Members will have the opportunity to preview the exhibition before the public with a complimentary glass of bubbly from 6-7 PM. The evening will open with Philomene in conversation with photographers Elizabeth Renstrom, Senior Photo Editor of the New Yorker, and VICE’s Alyza Enrique, of VICE Media’s Gender Spectrum Project.

VICE will then host a museum-wide party, with Bushwick’s Mood Ring slinging specialty cocktails all night and Collin James and Brandon Veloria in the DJ booth. Musical lineup includes DJs Sarah Abney, Danielle Nemet (@dani_aphrodite) and performances by West Dakota (@iamwestdakota) and Serena Tea (@serenateanyc).

All creative spirits and esthetes are encouraged to attend.

Members are required to RSVP. The RSVP includes access to the first-look, artist panel, and after party with VICE.
