Variations for Dusk

Variations for Dusk is a residency for Micah Frank & Chet Doxas’s year-long project of researching, performing and recording the works of 12th century composer, mystic, and philosopher, Hildegard von Bingen.

To begin each evening, they invite guest musicians along to perform these touchstones of early music, while embracing their diverse backgrounds in tape music, musique concrète and avant-garde jazz. The remainder of the evening is curated by Frank and Doxas and features a diverse selection of luminaries from New York’s improvised and experimental music scenes.
