Variations for Dusk

A Residency of Experimental & Ambient Music

Lesley Flanigan

Variations for Dusk

Variations for Dusk is a residency for Larum’s (Micah Frank & Chet Doxas) year-long project of researching, performing and recording the works of 12th century composer, mystic, and philosopher, Hildegard von Bingen.

To begin each evening, Larum invites guest musicians along to perform these touchstones of early music, while embracing their diverse backgrounds in tape music, musique concrète and avant-garde jazz. The remainder of the evening is curated by Frank and Doxas and features a diverse selection of luminaries from NYC’s improvised and experimental music scenes.

Set 1: Larum – The music of Hildegard von Bingen w/ special guest Michael Formanek, for woodwinds, foley, electronics & acoustic bass

Set 2: Harvey Valdes – Solo works of J.S. Bach, for guitar

Set 3: Lesley Flanigan – Subtonalities, for two oscillators & voice

General Admission tickets include museum admission.
Space is limited for Patron RSVP’s to this event.
