Hip Hop Conscious Unconscious Hoodie, Graffiti, Unisex
Mass Appeal x Fotografiska
Our Fotografiska hoodie celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop is a soft, black cotton version emblazoned - or tagged if you will - on the front with a white graffiti flourish.
Arguably the celebrated "uniform" of Hip Hop, this simple, practical, and protective garment has provoked some strong reactions over the decades since its first 20th century iteration in the form of insulation wear for U.S. warehouse workers in the 1930s. Adopted early on in the formative vocabulary of Hip Hop style the message it sent was about deliberate informality, non-conformity, and resistance. As globally ubiquitous as the T-shirt today, Hip Hop aficionados, as well as athletes, can be credited with the hoodie's current popularity. Ours is a pullover style hoodie, with the hand warmer pocket in front, and a drawstring hood. The reverse displays our title graphic on a red swatch, underlined with white text, and the left ribbed cuff shows our signature Hip Hop 50 red tab, commemorating a special anniversary in musical history.
