CHR #1 Poster
The imagery of Christer Strömholm is quite unique, and his significance for Swedish photography is highly indisputable. According to Strömholm the art of photography is not about documenting reality, but instead to capture what you as a photographer see inside your mind - your vision is of more importance than your technique.
The photo series “CHR” includes both his classical photos of the 1950’s Paris, Spain, Japan and the US, and pictures of his friends at Place Blanche.
Strömholm mostly worked with black and white photos, and the theme was more than often death, life, privacy and friends, which this portrait of a woman covering her naked breasts is a great example of.
