Arco 1127 Poster
A poster by renowned commercial photographer Jill Greenberg, featuring a rearing horse.
Greenberg developed her art during the childhood of the digital revolution. Greenberg began photographing when she was nine years old and has since the mid-1980s continuously experimented with techniques such as re-photographing slide projections, reflections in myls and cyanotype. She utilizes digital tools to create worlds that reflect the drawing and painting techniques she found in the Surrealists. The desire to push the boundaries of the medium combined with the solid education at Cranbrook, Detroit Institute of Arts, as well as courses in semiotics and feminist critical theory at Brown University permeates her art, where she pushes with both high and low - and with a twinkle in her eye questions both art and commerce.
