Das Gesetz der Serie (The Law of the Series) Poster
This poster reproduction of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy's piece The Law of the Series (1925), shows the artist in characteristically innovative mode - experimenting with early darkroom technology in the replication of a single photographed image to create a dynamic, graphic design. The figure portrayed is a young colleague, Marcel Breuer, who would go on to become a famous architect and designer in his own right. The combination of a multi-image, at several different exposure grades, with minimalist linear graphic devices, in a white open space, would have been appraised as a highly original visual of the time.
