Anders Petersen’s pictures are not about the rich and the poor, but about something much more profound. They are about that which makes us human. Fotografiska presents one of our most important photographers in a solo exhibition spanning his first images at Café Lehmitz in 1967 to new works. There is no chronology, but there is a continuous theme. It is about encounters. And about being present.
"When someone looks at the photographs, they come alive, they breathe. It is in the encounter with the viewer that the picture comes into being. If the pictures don’t speak, they are not very good" - Anders Petersen
