If I expect openness and understanding, then I should offer the same in return

The inhabitants of Warsaw consider Brzeska Street, the very core of North Praga, to be the most neglected and dangerous district in the city. This prompted me to take portraits of the street’s residents, my neighbors, acquaintances, and friends, people among whom I have lived for many years. I only photograph people who I have kept in close touch with. These relationships are always mutual. If I expect openness and understanding, then I should offer the same in return.
