Kowski is never ingratiating or limited by norms and rules created by society – she goes her own way with her own kinds of expression. Predicted to have a brilliant future and discovered by photographers like Antoine D’Agata, the world is at her feet.

Lu Kowski

Came out of nowhere and went straight into the Swedish and European photography world in 2013. Born in Umeå but raised in Athens with a Swedish father and Greek mother, she now lives and works in Stockholm.

Kowski started to publish her photographs in social media in 2013 and was then discovered by Fotografiska’s founder,

Jan Broman. In May 2014, she had her first solo exhibition at Fotografiska which ran for four months and she was also hand-picked for an advanced degree in photography at Kulturama.

Kowski’s photography took the breath out of her viewers with her very private, introverted images that use a good deal of grain and darkness. What catches the viewer in this black and white journey is a thought-provoking world of images that are unbound by gravity or concepts of right or wrong.
