Marcus Leatherdale was a primary visual record-keeper for the surging Downtown art and performance culture of 1980s NYC. His arresting, dim photographs documented many of that era's key figures, frequently highlighted in his monthly column, Hidden Identities, in the first edition of Details Magazine. Such people included Andy Warhol, Madonna, Kathy Acker, Divine, Tina Chow, Lydia Lunch, Lisa Lyons, Michael Clark, Keith Haring, Cookie Mueller, John Sex, International Chrysis, and others. An introduction by Leatherdale subject and mistress, Claudia Summers, is included.
