In the exhibition Rubbish, Dipping Sauce, Grass, Peonie, Bum, Fotografiska's visitors were able to meet parts of the three projects that Maisie Cousins has devoted the last five years of her life to. Here, together with a book of the same name, the series have been collected and interwoven into an imaginative whole, supplemented by a fourth series, Mercado, and a video work.

In the exhibition, intuition is allowed to guide, and no one can predict, or even define, what it is that this artist and photographer creates, but it makes strong visual impressions - and imprints. Some see it as something disgusting, others as ingenious and fascinating.

For Cousins, though, it doesn't matter. She simply follows her intuition, which can take her anywhere in these hyperrealistic compositions where everyday objects are transformed into hallucinogenic photographs, of which we get to make our own image.
