From the exhibition UMBRA at Fotografiska this poster by Viviane Sassen shows a photograph of a cloud floating among the rooftops. Sassen claims that everyone has an unique way of seeing things, but that sometimes we share the meaning and value of our experiences.

Her work has the ability to bring together the unique perspectives of the different viewers making it a space for joint creation, where every observer contributes with their own personal perspective.

Vivian Sassen, born in the 1970s, is a photographer who in the exhibition UMBRA created a space for the observer to fill the pictures with their own history and associations, and thereby becoming a co-creator to Sassens extremely personal work. To make such personal creations, and at the same time invite the observer to contribute truly is an art, which Sassen masters in her way to capture shadows, patterns and shapes in a generous, brave, thoughtful and abstract way.
